Q: Can SILVO® be used on gold?
A: Yes. SILVO® may be used on gold according to directions listed on container.
Q: Can SILVO® damage plated metal?
A: When plated items are cleaned or polished with any product that contains a low level abrasive, the plating may thin out or flake over a certain amount of time.
Q: How can SILVO® be removed from crevices?
A: Use a soft toothbrush, brushing gently so as not to scratch the metal surface. Sometimes a cotton swab can be used and will fit nicely into the crevices to remove any dried product. Also, a very mild soapy detergent can be used to soften the residue. Follow by brushing gently with a toothbrush. Wipe dry with a soft clean cloth.
Q: Are there detergents in SILVO®?
A: No, SILVO® does not contain any detergents.
Q: Are there soaps in SILVO®?
A: There is a very small amount of soap in this product for cleaning and suspending the tarnish on surfaces.
Q: Is SILVO® water based or solvent based?
A: SILVO® is water based.
Q: Is SILVO® safe for use on ceramic surfaces?
A: No, we do not recommend using SILVO® for ceramic surfaces since the product has not been tested for that use.
